Bio

I've started this journal as a documentary of my upcoming year teaching in China. I will share my impressions of the country, its people, and the changes taking place in the Chinese economy. As I am teaching in a rural area, I hope to share what I learn about how China's economic growth is impacting those living outside of the major urban areas given so much attention in Western media. I'll also upload photos of whatever I think readers may find of interest. Although I hope to share some of the watershed moments that I'm bound to have in this experience, I'll also be writing about the most mundane aspects of my life here. My primary goal for this blog is to keep friends and family updated about my life here. I hope you'll find some of the stories of interest, though. Sometimes the most interesting stories are those that are just simple accounts of everyday life. Thanks for visiting.
